PS Slurry Sand Pump
The PS Slurry Sand Pump is a horizontal, side-entry centrifugal slurry pump designed for heavy-duty applications in mineral processing plants. It is ideally suited for transporting abrasive ore slurries and heavy media suspensions, handling solid concentrations up to 60-70% by weight. Engineered for reliability, easy maintenance, and long service life in demanding environments.

Key Features & Advantages
Robust Construction & Long Life: The wetted parts, including the impeller, liner, and pump body, are manufactured from wear-resistant alloy cast iron, significantly extending service life and reducing maintenance downtime.
Effective Low-Pressure Seal: The unique design incorporates auxiliary blades at the impeller inlet, ensuring the packing gland is on the low-pressure suction side. This, combined with a packed gland seal flushed with a small amount of clean water, provides effective sealing with minimal water consumption.
Easy Maintenance & Inspection: The pump allows for easy disassembly of the discharge pipe via a expansion joint. A swing-out mechanism (on most models) enables the pump casing to be opened for quick inspection and maintenance without disturbing the inlet pipeline.
Operational Flexibility: Features two inlet ports on the suction casing for flexible piping layout and installation. It can be driven by either V-belts or a direct coupling.
Wear Adjustment: The axial position of the bearing assembly can be adjusted to maintain an optimal clearance between the impeller and the front liner, ensuring consistent pump efficiency and prolonging component life.
Preferred Flooded Suction Operation: While the pump has some self-priming capability, it is recommended for use in a flooded suction configuration (where the pump centerline is located more than 1m below the slurry level) for optimal performance, avoiding the need for foot valves which are prone to clogging.
Design & Construction
The PS Slurry Sand Pump is comprised of a pump body, impeller, front and rear liners, suction casing, seal chamber, shaft, bearing assembly, and support frame. The shaft is made of high-quality carbon steel, while the bearing housing and support frame are constructed from durable cast iron.
Typical Applications
Transport of abrasive ore slurries in concentrators and mining operations.
Circulating the heavy medium in dense media separation (DMS) plants.
Handling other abrasive slurries with high solid content in industrial settings.
Model Designation
Example: 5PS
5: Discharge diameter (in inches), calculated as the nominal diameter in mm divided by 25.
P: Solids/Slurry Pump
S: Sand
Specification Range
Discharge Size: 62.5 to 150mm (2.5 to 6inches)
Head: 8.33 to 193m
Flow Rate: 30 to 500m³/h
